The SEDCAD user divides the watershed site into relatively homogeneous subwatersheds with respect to expected hydrologic and/or sedimentologic
response. The subwatersheds are linked with structures, and the structures are
linked in a nodal fashion in the networking section.
Hydrographs
Hydrographs are developed for a design storm for each subwatershed with the
input of area, time of concentration, SCS (NRCS) curve number, and a unit
hydrograph response shape. Routing of hydrographs is accomplished by the
Muskingum method.
Sedimentgraphs
Similarly, a sedimentgraph is developed for each
subwatershed using an input eroded particle size distribution, soil erodibility
K factor, representative slope length, representative slope, type of soil cover,
and control practices.
